It’s no secret that in recent years there has been almost no company that does not use applications developed outside the organization, applications that run in the cloud or uses internal work processes with various low-code / no-code automation capabilities. The problem is that all of these applications connect to the most critical services in the organization, making it difficult to keep track of the many connections, exposing the organization to attacks from the applicative supply chain, information leaks and breaches of privacy and information security regulatory standards.

The Israeli startup Astrix produces a security map of all third-party application connections to enterprise platforms, and allows security personnel to receive an analysis of the degree of organizational exposure, and the possible ways to immediately reduce the risk. The platform automatically detects changes and anomalies, corrects them in real time, and helps security teams easily manage connections while maintaining corporate policy.

“There are many products on the market that allow users to securely access critical systems in organizations, but no product today can secure the connection of different applications to those critical systems,” says Alon Jackson, CEO and co-founder of Asterix. “As security experts, we understand how difficult it is for organizations today to keep pace with change and manage the work environment securely, which only becomes more complex over the years. In recent months, thanks to a talented, dedicated and accurate team, we have built Asterix so that we can, together, help security managers become gatekeepers and growth promoters in their organization. ”

First months in a living room in Florence

The company was founded by Alon Jackson (CEO) and Idan Gur (CTO) about six months ago. Both are longtime friends, graduates of AMN’s Excellence Program – Lilies. After a long service in senior command positions in Unit 8200, they joined key positions in the cyber field in Argos and Deep-Instinct and founded the company.

In conversation with Giktiim Alon Jackson, CEO of Astrix, who and Idan Gur, his partner in founding the company, have known each other for a long time: “Idan and I have been friends for about 15 years, and in such a period of time, of which we lived together for about 5 years, That you can talk to your eyes and you can trust each other with your eyes closed. In the end, for an organization that needs to run fast on many things at the same time, it gives strength and confidence and allows Asterix to move fast. ”

Jackson says that the company started small, “When we decided to embark on a new common path, we decided to work a few months earlier from a picnic table in the living room of an era in Florence. We thought a lot, talked to everyone we could to find a real and difficult problem that the market wants in solving it. We first wanted to convince ourselves, to get the first potential customers and only then turn to a round of recruitment. ” He said that thanks to this way, the company has won excellent investors “on an international scale” and managed to form the team, which forms the basis of Asterix “and the secret of success so far” he says.

Like many entrepreneurs – especially in the cyber field – Asterix’s entrepreneurs are 8200 graduates, however, according to Jackson, people tend to perceive the title “8200 graduates” as one piece, but investors today look much more deeply, “We are both alumni graduates, Artist; We were both discharged with the rank of Major after over a decade of service, during which time we were led and managed core areas and strategic operations of the various units in which we served. We also attach great importance to experience in the private market, in recent years I have managed the development group at Argos, and Idan in leading positions in Deep-Instinct, so we have gained significant managerial experience and built relationships in the cyber industry start-ups as well.

Astrix Security was unveiled today (Wednesday) with a $ 15 million lime round led by Bessemer Venture Partners and F2 Capital, with the participation of Venrock and more than 20 well-known angel investors in the cyber field.
