Israel struck a military target in Iran, from where drones and missiles were launched towards the Jewish state on April 13.
As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, this was reported to the Financial Times (FT) by a source aware of the situation.
So far, as the source said, there is no information about any casualties as a result of the Israeli strike. “Some targets” were also hit in southern Syria, he noted. “Geographically, this shows that Israel can reach any place in Iran,” the source added, indicating that what happened “was part of the message.”
The publication also cites the statement of a Western diplomat, who drew attention to the fact that Israel, in contacts with its allies before the strike, made it clear that, while reserving the right to respond to Iranian shelling, it did not seek escalation.
Earlier, the American TV channel ABC, citing an official in the US administration, reported that Israel had launched a missile strike on a facility on Iranian territory. CNN, also citing an American official, indicated that the attack was Israel’s response to the Iranian attack on April 13.
For their part, Iranian media reported about drones spotted in the sky over Isfahan province on Friday at approximately 03:00 local time (02:30 Moscow time). According to Iranian state television, three drones were shot down in the skies over Isfahan by air defenses. According to the Tasnim agency, no missile strikes were carried out on Iranian territory. Iranian Army General Siyavush Mihandust, who was quoted by the agency, explained that the loud sounds recorded in the Iranian city of Isfahan were associated “with shooting [сил] Air defense against suspicious objects”, no destruction or “accidents” were registered in the city.
