The surplus of the foreign trade balance of Russia in January-August grew by 68%

Russia’s foreign trade surplus in the first eight months of 2021 amounted to $ 111.4 billion, which is 68.02% (or $ 45.1 billion) more than in the same period last year, TASS reports with reference to the Federal Customs Service (FCS ).

Exports of goods from Russia in January-August amounted to $ 299.7 billion (+ 41.4% in annual terms), imports – $ 188.3 billion (+ 29.3%). In general, foreign trade turnover during this period increased by 36.5%, to $ 488 billion.

According to the Federal Customs Service, the share of fuel and energy products in the commodity structure of exports amounted to 52.5% (last year – 53.3%). In imports, the largest share – 49.7% – fell on machinery and equipment (last year – 46.5%).

In January-August, the EU accounted for 35.7% of Russian trade, the CIS countries – 12.1%, the EAEU countries – 8.9%, and the APEC countries – 34%.

Earlier, the FCS reported that in January-September it increased transfers to the federal budget by 49% (1.592 trillion rubles) compared to the same period last year. The amount amounted to 4.808 trillion rubles.
