These millions of French users “are particularly passionate about fashion and couture”, details the application in a press release. This also recalls the other trends that have made the social network successful, such as #BookTok (the hashtag that brings together book and literature enthusiasts), or even music, TikTok being originally an application dedicated to dances. and musical choreographies.
The hashtag #Rap, the most listened to musical genre in the country, has thus concentrated “more than 5 billion views in France and 380,000 videos posted since the start of 2023”, continues the press release. The number of French people active each month on the sometimes dangerous platform was calculated over a six-month average, from April to September 2023. On a comparable basis, the social network is used by 134 million people in 27 countries. of the European Union.
The company recently announced several changes in Europe such as data hosting on the continent, a non-personalized news feed and the end of personalized advertisements for minors.
An “addictive” character
