This Friday, November 24 marks the 3rd day that rail traffic has still been blocked by individuals proclaiming themselves responsible or members of railway station merchant associations. A membership that is nevertheless not recognized by the Federation of said associations which, through letters and the press, has formally distanced itself from the uncivil acts in progress.

We learn, from those responsible for the railway operations department, that the 2 refrigerated containers, loaded with pharmaceutical products, destined for Ouagadougou, under the cover of the Central Purchasing of Essential and Generic Medicines (CAMEG), still remain stuck at Bingo.
Despite the negotiations undertaken by SITARAIL officials to obtain the passage of these very sensitive and vital products, the leaders remained insensitive and inflexible. However, refrigerated containers operate using small built-in thermal generators which must be regularly supplied with fuel.
This prolonged blockage therefore poses the risk of a shutdown of the generators and damage to the products contained in the containers. Note that these products, above all considerations, are intended for pharmaceutical companies and health structures for the care of populations.
In this difficult context, where our Authorities and patriotic forces are making enormous sacrifices to supply our populations, such a blockage of a supply circuit, by individuals whose real motivations are unknown, cannot be tolerated.
According to sources close to the activity, a complaint would have been filed with those concerned against the perpetrators, because obstruction or blocking of the railway track is a “crime” punishable by the Railway Police, taking into account the dangers that these acts cause harm to staff and/or passengers on board the train and local populations.
Looking forward to the rapid outcome of this complaint so that the sovereign force can be exercised to put an end to this distressing situation.
