Cosmonaut training in Russia differs from astronaut training in the United States in that it requires more theory lessons, including with experienced cosmonauts, Salem al-Marri, director of the UAE astronaut training program, told the press.

In the USA, the future crew works “with their own hands” on various simulators. In Russian training, of course, there are also many simulators, it’s just a matter of the ratio.

Among the similarities, he named the approach of both countries to focus on safety, physical training of crews and strict adherence to all training procedures.
