The head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, earlier this week called the head of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalin, and asked him to make mediation efforts to resolve the situation around Iran’s impending strike on Israel.

As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, TRT TV channel reports this with reference to sources in security structures.

“CIA Director Burns called the head of MIT, Ibrahim Kalin, during the Eid al-Fitr holiday (beginning on April 10 – approx.) and asked him to mediate in the context of the situation with [готовившимся] Iran’s attack on Israel,” the channel’s sources said.

Kalyn also allegedly discussed with Burns issues regarding the prospects for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. After a conversation with the head of the CIA, Kalin contacted representatives of the radical Palestinian group Hamas, TRT notes.
