She welcomes the “dedicated efforts of the Guinean authorities and emergency services in the management » of the crisis, adding that it is “exploring means” to assist the country. The U.S. Embassy in Guinea is closely monitoring the situation following the recent catastrophic explosion at the Société Guinéenne de Pétrole national oil depot. We express our deepest condolences to those directly affected by this tragedy and we stand in solidarity with the people of Guinea during this difficult time.
