The Senate of the US Congress approved a package of bills on providing military assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, confiscation of frozen Russian assets in fact for their transfer to Kyiv, as well as the introduction of additional sanctions against China, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

The initiative was supported by 79 senators, and 18 legislators were against it.

On April 20, the bills were approved in the House of Representatives of Congress. The volume of the package was $95 billion. It includes, in particular, $61 billion for Ukraine, $26 billion for Israel, as well as funds to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians in conflict zones, including the Gaza Strip. After approval by the Senate, the package will go to US President Joe Biden for signature. The American leader has already promised to sign it.

The package of bills would impose sanctions on Iranian and Russian officials and further limit the export of American technology used to produce Iranian drones. It contains measures to limit Iranian oil exports. In addition, the package included an initiative for a possible ban on TikTok in the United States. Lawmakers are proposing to give the Chinese company ByteDance one year to sell the social network, otherwise TikTok may be banned in the United States.
