Minister Ivonne Núñez assures that hourly work, with the legal benefits, does not lead to job insecurity.
Hourly work, one of the questions in Daniel Noboa’s referendum, does not fall into job insecurity when benefits such as social security and a contract are provided, explained the Minister of Labor, Ivonne Núñez this Friday, February 16, at the exit of the Guayas Government.
In fact, the hourly work already exists in Ecuadorthe Minister specified, and this is called permanent part-time contract, which seeks to be amended through the referendum. Specifically article 327 of the Constitution.
For payment in the hourly contract, a calculation is established: divide the Basic salary to 160 hours.
«The calculation throws us above USD 3. And here we have to make some additions that are extremely important, which are the sum of the proportionals such as the thirteenth, vacation pay and social security contributions,” he explained.
With this he assured that the hourly payment increases.
And furthermore, if we take into account the hovertime and supplementary hours “The working day on a Saturday or Sunday, or later from 24:00 to 08:00 oscillates above USD 8.”
Ecuadorians will vote on this initiative on April 21 in the popular consultation and referendum proposed by the Noboa Government.
