The official voices of Homer and Marge Simpson will announce some Nice tram stations during the carnival.
“If you take the tram during the carnival, listen carefully,” warned Christian Estrosi. Indeed, it is a well-known couple who will take over the Nice tramway announcements: Marge and Homer Simpson, as the mayor of Nice announced this Thursday, February 1 during a press conference detailing the program of the festivities of this 2024 edition of the Nice carnival.
“From February 17 to March 3 you will be able to hear us throughout the carnival as king of the jam jar… king of the skin of hard glue… king of pop culture!”, announced the two cult figures.
“Bring a little joy”
The audio messages from Philippe Peythieu and Véronique Augereau, official voices of the two characters since 1989, were recorded for certain tram stops. The two actors are also married in real life.
They will be broadcast regularly throughout the festivities, “to add a little joy”, promises the city’s mayor. These announcements are also a way for Nice to show that the carnival is indeed a “popular” event.
The Nice carnival, which will take place from February 17 to March 3, is this year under the theme of the “king of pop culture”. For this edition, the world of media, cinema, sport, video games, theater, literary works, comics, painting and music will therefore be in the spotlight.
