11 nominees are in the running for this medal. These include, among others, Aliou Sawadogo, the boy with the slingshot from Kaya, the posthumous VDP Ladji Yoro, the National U 17 team of Burkina and the 2-hour frame for Kamita.
In addition, in the Thomas Sankara medal category for innovation and invention, 9 nominees are in competition, namely, among others, Professor Fréderic Ouattara, head of Burkina Sat 1; Uriel Michel Sizounga, designer of the solar car; Christine Angèle Bougoumpiga’s gas smokehouse. Serge bayala, made it clear that the objective of this category is to make known the inventors and innovators of Burkina Faso.
