Grandmaster Ramesh Babu Pragyanananda, India’s new chess wonder, wants to enjoy everything he does. The world-famous 16-year-old, who defeated world chess champion Magnus Carlsen, was speaking at the reception at Sreesaredha Vidyalaya, Kalady. Kalady Adi Shankara Trust, Institute of Engineering College and Sreesaredha Vidyalaya jointly presents the Shankara Award (Rs. 1 lakh) to Adi Shankara Trust Managing Trustee K.K. Pragyananda received from Anand.

No special preparations were made for the match against Carlson. It was the fourth game played that day. So it was not possible to prepare specifically for that game. Pragyananda said, “My current goal in life is to improve my performance in chess. Up to 8 hours a day will be set aside for training. Since her sister is also a good chess player, there are constant discussions going on to improve the game at home. Pragyananda came to Kalady from Chennai with his sister Vaishali and mother Nagalakshmi.
