People’s Artist of the USSR Vera Vasilyeva will be buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow on Saturday, August 12. This was told at the Moscow Academic Theater of Satire, where the actress served.
At 11:00 on Saturday, farewell to Vera Kuzminichnaya will begin at the Theater of Satire, and a civil memorial service will take place at noon. The funeral service will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior at 14:30.
Vera Vasilyeva died at the age of 98 on August 9. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the death of Vera Kuzminichna is an irreparable loss both for national culture and for the Satire Theater native to the artist, on the stage of which she played for more than 75 years.
The actress, along with her husband Vladimir Ushakov, did not have their own children. Vera Vasilyeva did not want distant relatives to share her property after her death, so she bequeathed everything to Daria Miloslavskaya, who considered her named daughter.
In the museum at the Ivan Turgenev Drama Theater in Orel, on the stage of which the actress performed, the memory of Vera Vasilyeva has already been immortalized on a memorial plaque.
