The politician noted that back in February, propagandists spread rumors on their channels that he died in prison.

“And, of course, seeing this, my heart was just torn by worry for him and his life,” Tsikhanovskaya said.

She emphasized that “terrible things” are happening to political prisoners in prisons: the politician spoke about the incessant torture of political prisoners and recalled the recent death of a political prisoner Nikolai Klimovich.

“I read terrible news every day, and at this moment I think about Sergei,” she said. — (…) During our three-year separation with him, I visited such a number of countries that I could not even imagine before. Although, in fact, I dream of returning home and living with Sergei and my children in free Belarus.”

Tsikhanovskaya confirmed that she is holding on today thanks to Belarusians.

“Once again I want to say thank you to all of you: those who believe and support Sergey; to those who believe and support me; those who support themselves, their loved ones or even strangers who are in a difficult situation,” she said.

Human rights defenders have been held in prison for more than 22 months.
