Dani Alves has been behind bars for almost a month now. The former Barcelona defender is suspected of rape in a club in the city at the end of 2022 and meanwhile, the Catalan police report from the night in question has been revealed in Spain and it supports the complainant’s version. As is known, the Brazilian himself has changed his version several times since the investigation began.
In the investigation report of the police officers who were called to the ‘Sutton’ club in Barcelona at the end of December, it is written: “This is a sexual assault, we received a call from the manager of the club. There was physical contact (between Alves and the complainant) and those involved are at the scene, they also called an ambulance just in case.” According to the police, the complainant against Alves is not the only one who filed a complaint against him, but also her friends alleging harassment. According to them, the Brazilian touched them without consent.
The police were called to the club at 4:57 and arrived at 5:11, after which the complainant described what happened in the club’s bathroom. The report states that at 5:46 Alves was no longer in the club and a little after 6:00 the complainant was taken to the hospital with two of her friends.
Meanwhile, during the day, a hearing is scheduled to take place in the court in Barcelona with the participation of the lawyers and without the presence of Alves or the complainant, this after the defender’s representative filed an appeal against the decision not to release him from prison until the start of the trial. Both sides will present their arguments to the court, which does not have to make an immediate decision on whether to release the player.
