Companies with headquarters in the province of Barcelona invoiced in 2022 some 328,985 million euros, according to the estimate included in the report ‘Business structure of the province of Barcelona’, presented to the media by the Barcelona Provincial Council (DIBA) in collaboration with the Manresa Town Hall this past Tuesday, December 19.
The amount is not yet consolidated because the data from Barcelona companies of the year are still being analyzed. Commercial Registry 2022, although it does allow us to talk about a “record turnover”, in the words of Eva Minor (PSC)deputy responsible for the Economic Development area of the DIBA and also mayor of Vallès Bay.
However, the data for 2021 is consolidated, a year that the DIBA has already studied exhaustively: Barcelona companies then invoiced about 291,237 million euros, the highest turnover of the decade until that year, which represents 13.3% more turnover than in 2020 (257,054 million), the ‘hard year’ of the pandemic, and also return to the billing levels of 2019 (288,942 million).
