The Josep Pla Foundation celebrates this Saturday the thirty years of the Josep Pla Route Palafrugell. The route, pioneer in Cataloniawas launched in 1993 by joining the writer’s literature with heritage and landscape. Over the years, the Josep Pla Route has been programmed continuously and has evolved: it has broadened its horizons, from the initial ten points related to the trajectory and work of the author ofthe gray notebook, and autonomous itineraries have been created.

Currently, the original proposal can only be carried out independently through the Josep Pla Route folder, but to celebrate the occasion, the Josep Pla Foundation has wanted recover for one day the guided tour in its original formwith a route that includes several spaces in the center of Palafrugell and visits to Tamariu, Sant Sebastià, Calella and Llofriu, with a stop for breakfast at Hotel Tamariu included. The tour will be done with the bus without a roof.

Since the initial proposal, the range of possibilities for the Ruta Josep Pla has been expanding: in the first instance, monographic or thematic itineraries were created through spaces that were already included in the initial routel: the center of Palafrugell, Palafrugell surer, Tamariu, the lighthouse of Sant Sebastià, Calella and Llofriu. To these proposals relating to Palafrugell, the route through the gardens of Cap Roig was added, the result of the collaboration with Fundació La Caixa.

Apart from these extensions, the Ruta Josep Pla has incorporated tours through other parts of the Baix Empordà, such as Pals or Ullastretand has opened up to more distant horizons: l’Escala, Cadaqués, Girona, Barcelona, ​​Paris and the proposals inaugurated this year for the island of Mallorca, Palma and the Serra de Tramuntana, adding alliances with institutions such as MAC Ullastret, the Aula d’Escriptura de Girona or the Fundació Mallorca Literària.
