The Assembly endorsed reforms to the 2023 Budget Law to incorporate funds to different State portfolios and Government entities for the execution of projects that will benefit Salvadorans.
The deputies of the Legislative Assembly approved, with 79 votes, the incorporation of funds to the Ministry of Health, in the amount of $340,000. The money comes from the Non-Refundable Financing Framework Agreement of the Mesoamerican Health Fund, called the Mesoamerican Health Program 2015-El Salvador.
This project will help reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality in prioritized municipalities, through strengthening the first level of care. In addition, the funds will strengthen and benefit different hospitals nationwide.
In the study of the initiative, representatives of the Ministry of Finance maintained that, in previous years, said program made it possible to improve the technical capabilities of health personnel, care in laboratories and acquire medications, stretchers and computer equipment.
