The Port of Ashdod is opening the second round of its accelerator, “Blue Ocean For Startups”, which will bring you to POC within six months. The port will become the first customer of those who complete the acceleration program, and it may also become your potential investor.

The acceleration program will open at the beginning of April and will last for about six months, and it will be supported by the international venture capital fund 500 Global. The program is looking for solutions in the fields of supply chain, logistics, operations, cyber, energy, safety and security. Registration will close on February 23 and participation is free of registration fees.

1:1 with specialists, recruitment and preparation for medical personnel

Up to 15 startups will be admitted to the program, and it will provide them with tools in four centers:

  • Growth basics – customer personas, value proposition, lean startup principles, metrics and KPI’s board, as well as unit economics and pricing, thinking for growth, how to run marketing and sales experiments, negotiation simulation and the basics of negotiation.
  • Growth and Evaluation Experiments – Product Introduction and CDR/PDR, Product POC and Roadmap and Shapzur One Liners.
  • Preparations for POC – planning milestones and KPI’s for POC’s.
  • Recruitment and pitch preparation – international scaling, talent acquisition, teams and recruitment, data room for due diligence, investment amounts, valuation and equity, how to contact venture capital investors, term sheets, critical terms and principles, what venture capital investors are looking for, strategy Visual for a winning presentation and practice pitches for Demo Day.

The startups that will participate in the program will receive diverse tools, including workshops and 1:1 work hours with expert mentors, exposure to personalized networking events with global stakeholders and help in creating connections. They will also learn about critical legal terms and conditions to enable agreements around equity, IP, partnerships, acquisitions, and the like. With the help of the experts who will accompany the program, the participants will reach key financial insights about investment management, their operation and better positioning to attract future investments.

The port of Ashdod will become the playground of the startups in order to carry out the POC, and they will also have at their disposal the experience gained by the innovation people at the port, who accompanied more than 70 startups to the successful execution of the proof of feasibility. In 2022, the Port of Ashdod established a CVC investment fund, and to date it has invested more than NIS 8 million in 9 startups. The port has also opened innovation embassies in ports around the world, including the Port of Newark in New Jersey and the Port of Barcelona. The participating startups will be able to perform a POC in the existing innovation embassies and those that will be opened later, thus gaining international exposure.
