The Mongolian government’s anti-corruption operation, Transparency, has reached a new level by pioneering the use of artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced by the Minister of Electronic Development and Communications Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
“The fight against corruption within the framework of Operation Transparency has reached a new stage due to the fact that, in cooperation with the private sector, we have developed version 2.0 of the open information system shilen.gov.mn and introduced the latest artificial intelligence technology,” the minister said. He recalled that since the start of the operation in 2023, the population’s right to access 975 thousand pieces of information on loans and procurement of government funds and authorities has been ensured. Information has been added on 2,512 mining licenses issued over the past three months.
“Next time we will train AI to answer questions about land allocation and special government funds. The more you ask, the more artificial intelligence will learn and develop. This opens a new era in which the right of citizens to information is regulated by technology, not people “, the minister added.
Anti-corruption plan
The Mongolian government declared 2023 the year of the fight against corruption and began implementing the “Five Sh” comprehensive plan. This is the initial letter of the names of five operations, including “Shilen” (“Transparency”), which is designed to ensure complete openness to the public of information about the activities of government departments and funds.
