Karachi: Former Pakistan player Shoaib Akhtar lashed out at Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, opener Mohammad Rizwan and batsman Fakhar Zaman after losing to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final. Akhtar openly said that this is the Asia Cup that Babar and Akhtar want to forget and Rizwan’s performance of 50 runs in 50 balls is not good for Pakistan.

Mohammad Rizwan scored a half-century but scored 55 runs in 49 balls. Rizwan’s slow pace put pressure on the Pac batsmen in the final overs. Pakistan lost three wickets in an over trying to play against Vanindu Hazaranka. In yesterday’s Asia Cup final, Sri Lanka lost the toss and went down to 58-5. After ten overs, Lanka’s score was 67-5. Lanka scored 103 runs in the last ten overs losing only one wicket. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Vanindu Hazaranka and Chamika Karunaratne took Lanka to 170. Rajapaksa became Lanka’s top scorer with an unbeaten 71 off 45 balls.
In reply, after 10 overs, Pakistan was 67-2. Lanka conceded nine extra runs through wides and no balls in the first over. Despite reaching 93-2, Pakistan managed to reach 147 runs in 20 overs.
