Businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego released photographs of what the Tangolunda golf course supposedly looks like, Huatulcoafter eight days of the National Guard incursion on March 14, to verify that the closure seals placed on March 8 had not been violated.

“Everything that the government touches, they rot, they dry it, they kill it, they destroy it, they burn it, they steal it, they drop it and they corrupt it,” said the businessman in a message on his X account (formerly Twitter).

The owner of Grupo Salinas described the declaration of a protected natural area as an “illegal expropriation” and said it was “revenge.”

“One day after the GN illegally expropriated the golf course in Huatulco out of revenge, I asked for photos to be taken, 8 days after the Government took it to ‘take care of it’, this is what it looks like,” he noted.

“EYE!!! This is how they want to leave the entire country and only because of the tantrum of a small group of thieves who bother them when they are questioned about how much money they, their family and friends are stealing,” he remarked.

“On June 2, go out and vote and you decide if you want a Mexico full of life or a dry one full of hate,” he concluded his message.

On March 14, elements of the National Guard were deployed in the vicinity of the golf club, operated by Ricardo Salinas Pliego’s business group through a concession that expired in 2027; However, the federal government declared it a protected natural area through a decree of February 26.

The Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) assured that the deployment of elements of the National Guard (GN) was due to the report of the presence of some armed people.

Through a statement, Profepa indicated that it responded to complaints presented by the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (Fonatur) regarding the entry of people from outside the Tangolunda National Park.

He added that he carried out a visit to corroborate that the seals from the closure carried out on March 8 had not been violated.

He also noted that the verification visit concluded on Friday, March 15, with the Profepa inspectors and the elements of the National Guard who accompanied the procedure leaving the site.

Salinas Pliego assured that the concessions that allowed him to operate the Tangolunda golf club remain in force, despite President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stating otherwise.

“There are legally signed contracts and CURRENT concessions that by law MUST be respected,” the owner of TV Azteca responded to López Obrador through the social network .

Instead, he accused the Secretary of the Interior (Segob), Luisa María Alcalde, of using the National Guard “to strip a private person of a valid, legal and current concession.”

However, in the face of criticism from the president, who maintained that the extension of the concession was granted irregularly, Salinas replied: “If whoever – on the part of the government – signed and extended the concession of the field, now it turns out that it was a ‘ “Corrupt or inept, that’s a little bit worse, just imagine that the Government itself accepts that its representatives are not trustworthy.”

This after López Obrador argued that his government declared the golf club land a protected natural area because an official – whose name he did not disclose – allegedly irregularly granted an extension of the concession to Salinas.

“They released a document where, supposedly, already in our government, an official who we have denounced, signed an extension of the contract,” he said during his daily press conference.

Instead, the president maintained that the concession has already expired and denied that his government is acting in an “authoritarian” manner.

Given this, Salinas Pliego affirmed that the permit to operate the golf course in Oaxaca remains valid and accused López Obrador of using it as a “distractor.”

He maintained that, if the concessions, which he claims are still in force, are not respected, a negative message would be given to investors and businessmen internationally.

The conflict occurs in the midst of a series of litigation in which the owner of Tv Azteca is accused of having debts to the treasury for more than 63 billion pesos.

Likewise, it happens a few days after the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) granted an injunction to Totalplay, another Salinas Pliego company, to prevent it from paying 640 million pesos claimed by the Tax Administration System (SAT). .

The highest court also concluded that the company still must pay 1.7 billion pesos in taxes for five more issues.

Last Friday, Ricardo Salinas Pliego announced that he will file a lawsuit against Jesús Ramírez Cuevas, spokesperson for the Presidency, for the publication of the file of the alleged tax debts of his companies for more than 63 billion pesos.
