The four who attacked the father with the child in the Novye Vatutinki area in New Moscow were officially employed as laborers. The head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow, Vladimir Vesenin, said that three of them received Russian citizenship more than nine years ago. One of the attackers came from Azerbaijan.

One of the participants in the fight had previously called the other suspects his brothers. According to him, they all came from Orenburg. Alexei Lomanchuk, deputy head of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative divisions of the Russian GUMVD for Moscow, previously reported that all the suspects in the attack were natives of the Transcaucasus.
The incident took place on November 5th. Four people attacked two men, one of whom was with a four-year-old child. The police opened a case under the article on hooliganism (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Later, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR), Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to re-qualify the case for a more serious article – “attempted murder.” In the ICR, this was explained by information in the media that the attackers had a piercing-cutting object. The suspects admit the fact of the conflict, but deny that they threatened with a knife.
