Thrissur: A doctor was arrested while accepting a bribe from a patient. Vigilance arrested Dr K Balagopal, a surgeon at Thrissur Medical College Hospital. Vigilance caught him accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for knee surgery.
The arrest was made at his residence in Viyur. The doctor was arrested by Vigilance DySP PS Suresh and his team. Today is World Anti-Corruption Day.
Puthur shocked by Pradeep’s unexpected separation
Pradeep, a Malayalee soldier who died in an Army helicopter crash in Coonoor, returned to work just four days after his leave. A few days ago, Pradeep came home for his son’s birthday and his father’s medical needs. The accident happened on the fourth day of his return to work. Pradeep Arakkal’s family consists of parents, wife and two children. Father Radhakrishnan, mother Kumari. Sreelakshmi is his wife. The children are Dakshindevsa and Deva Prayag. The father was ill and was not informed. The death was reported at 7.30 pm but was confirmed at 9.30 pm. Pradeep came home for his father’s treatment. (Read more ..)
