Directed by Rajeev Ravi starring Nivin Pauly and Arjun Ashokan, the first day collection reports are out. According to estimates released by Filmbeat and CineFry websites, the film collected more than 1 crore on its first day. CineFry reports that it has earned 1.2 crores. The film was made on a budget of around 10 crores. One of the most awaited films by Kerala people and fans of Nivin Pauly, Joju George and Indrajith Sukumaran, Thuramugam finally released on March 10 in Kerala and various parts of the world. Tharamugam is a historical film directed by Rajeev Ravi.

The film released amid huge expectations and was well received at the box office. The main theme of the film is the Chappa labor division system that prevailed at the Mattanchery port in Kochi in the 1940s and the struggle waged by the workers to end it. Developed from real-life events in a period setting, the film delivers an intense emotional spectacle with captivating performances by the cast.
Nivin Pauly, Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Sudev Nair, Arjun Ashokan, Manikandan R Achari, Senthil Krishna, Nimisha Sajayan, Poornima Indrajith, Darshana Rajendran and others have been cast in the film. The film hit the theaters after major crises. Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames brought the film, which was delayed three times, to the theatres.
The film also has the distinction of being scripted by Gopan Chidambaram after Job’s book. Thuramugam is a film based on a play written by Gopan Chidambaram’s father. The film has been produced by Sukumar Thekepaat and Jose Thomas under the banner of Thekepaat Films. Director Rajeev Ravi has handled the camera of the film.
