Mumbai: The match against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 was a life and death struggle for Delhi Capitals (MI vs DC). Delhi could have secured the play-offs if they had won but could not. With the loss to Delhi, RCB became the fourth team in the play-offs with 16 points, despite falling behind in net run rate.
If they had won against Mumbai, Delhi would have scored 16 points with RCB. They had a better net run rate than RCB, which was a positive factor for them. But it was Tim David, who smashed for Mumbai in the middle order, who crossed the boundary of Delhi’s hopes of victory. David hit four sixes and two fours in 11 balls as Delhi were bowled out for 34.
