Timothée Chalamet returns to ‘SNL’ and pokes fun at celebs who could’ve narrated Britney Spears’ memoir

by time news

Timothée Chalamet is back in the spotlight, this time as a guest host on “Saturday Night Live” following the end of the SAG strike. The “Dune” actor used the opportunity to promote his upcoming movie “Wonka,” but also participated in a comedic sketch poking fun at the audiobook for Britney Spears’ new memoir, “The Woman in Me.”

The sketch parodied the idea that several A-listers could have auditioned to narrate Spears’ book, with Chloe Fineman, playing Britney, saying “My audiobook is read by the amazing Michelle Williams, but she wasn’t the only one who wanted to read it.” The list of celebrities included Allison Janney, Martin Scorsese, and even Timothée Chalamet himself, showcasing his versatility in voicing the salacious book.

However, Spears’ manager, Cade Hudson, was not pleased with the portrayal, taking to social media to express his disapproval. He harshly criticized the “SNL” writers and the sketch itself, calling the show “pathetic” and claiming that the parody was not humorous.

Meanwhile, Spears’ memoir has been a resounding success, selling 1.1 million copies in its first week in the U.S. alone. “The Woman in Me” has garnered praise for its compelling account of Spears’ rise to global fame and her ongoing struggles, including the revelation that she had an abortion while dating Justin Timberlake more than 20 years ago.

Despite the controversy surrounding the “SNL” sketch, Chalamet’s appearance on the show serves as another opportunity for fans to see the talented actor’s comedic side amid his flourishing film career.
