According to Oceangate, it will no longer be making trips to the wreck of the Titanic in the near future. Two weeks ago, the submersible she operated, the Titan, went missing. All five occupants are believed to have died in an accident.

According to its own statements, the operating company of the crashed “Titan” submersible is stopping its trips. “Oceangate has ceased all scientific and commercial activities,” a banner on the company’s website said on Thursday. Shortly thereafter, the website was no longer accessible. Oceangate initially did not give any further details. Several US media had previously reported about it.

The Titan submersible went missing on June 18 after setting off on a reconnaissance tour of the Titanic wreck. A few days after the disappearance, a submersible had discovered debris, which the US Coast Guard on June 22 matched with the submersible. The death of five occupants on board was considered certain. Among them was one of the two founders and the acting head of the company.
