At seven o’clock in the evening, Tuesday, the holy city of Karbala will host the first leg of the West Asia region final for the AFC Cup (2024) between the Lebanese Al-Ahed and Omani Al-Nahda teams.
The correspondent of the (INA) stated, “Today’s meeting is the third between the two teams during the current season after they were drawn together in the first group in the tournament qualifiers, and Al-Ahed won the first match by two goals to one, and the latter won with the same result.”
He added, “Al-Ahed team was able to reach the final match after winning the decisive match over its Iraqi counterpart, Al-Kahraba, by a penalty shootout difference (4-3), despite losing the first leg by a goal, and Al-Kahraba wasted an opportunity that it missed in the last moments while playing on its field.”
He explained, “The Omani Al-Nahda team reached the final match after tying with Bahrain’s Al-Riffa with one goal in the first leg before matters were settled in Muscat in extra time with two goals, and it seeks to keep the title in Muscat after Al-Seeb of Oman won the final season’s edition.”
