Tolstoy called on the guardianship authorities of Rostov-on-Don to return the child to the family

Leaving a child in an orphanage instead of giving it to a grandmother is unacceptable. State Duma Deputy Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy stated this when commenting on the incident with the removal of a child from a family in Rostov-on-Don. According to him, the deputies will pay attention to such situations.

Earlier it became known that near Rostov-on-Don, the grandmother cannot take the child of her deceased daughter to her – the boy is not given without a certificate of 2 personal income tax. At the same time, she is a farmer, has a stable income and all the conditions for raising a baby, but her income has not been officially confirmed.

“I don’t understand how you can seriously think that placing a child in an orphanage is better than leaving him with his closest relatives,” Tolstoy wrote in his Telegram channel. “Or, according to officials, one piece of paper is worth crippled lives?”

The vice-speaker stressed that “the state should be on the side of families, and not destroy them.” According to him, when working in the new Duma convocation, the deputies will pay attention to building a system of guarantees in this area.
