Former Minister of Justice and former Secretary of Public Security for the Federal District, Anderson Torres, arrived at the headquarters of the Federal police

of the Federal Highway Police ( PRF
) in the Northeast on October 30, the date of the second round of elections.
Torres left the Operational Aviation Battalion of the Military Police of the DF, prison where he has been since January. The minister has been in prison since January 14 for alleged omission in the coup acts that took place on the 8th of that month.
On October 30, 2022, the date on which the second round took place, the Federal Highway Police carried out a series of operations and stopped cars, motorcycles and buses that had voters across the country. Most of these blitzes took place in states in the Northeast. These stoppages were prohibited by Alexandre de Moraes, but the PRF ignored the order for a few hours.
According to a report by the Ministry of Justice forwarded to the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), the PRF inspected 2,185 buses in the Northeast, where Lula (PT) had favoritism, against 571 in the Southeast, between October 28th and 30th.
Anderson Torres’ testimony should have taken place on April 24, however, it was postponed, after the former minister’s defense alleged a “worsening” in his health.
After determining the new date, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur for the investigation at the Federal Supreme Court (STF), stated that Torres was “duly evaluated by a medical professional, who attested that the prisoner’s medications were adjusted”, and that he “has had frequent medical follow-up”.
The Supreme Minister also assured the former Secretary of Public Security of the DF “the right to silence and the guarantee of non-self-incrimination, if asked to answer questions whose answers may result in his prejudice”.
