Toss announced on February 13, 2026, that it will fully cover payment fees for small online merchants during the Lunar New Year holiday, a move designed to ease the financial strain on businesses during a peak sales period.
Easing the Burden for Small Businesses
The initiative will waive commission fees on Tos Pay transactions from February 16th to February 22nd.
- Toss will absorb all payment fees for small online merchants using Tos Pay for one week.
- The fee support applies to transactions made with both points and cash.
- The refund of fees will be processed to affiliated stores after the promotional period.
- Additional support measures are available for offline businesses using Toss Place and Toss Order.
For small merchants, the commission for online Tos Pay payments will be completely supported during the promotional period. This applies to all payments made with either points or money, and the benefit will be automatically applied—no separate application is required. The goal is to provide tangible support to small businesses during a time when payment volume typically surges due to holiday spending.
Beyond the fee support, Toss is rolling out a suite of measures to reduce the operational burdens faced by small business owners. Toss Place, the company’s offline payment solution, is offering free access to point accumulation and coupon distribution features through Toss POS (Point of Sale). Similarly, Toss Order, a QR code-based table ordering system, is available at no cost, further contributing to streamlined store operations.
Consumers also stand to benefit from these initiatives. Paying with FacePay at stores equipped with a Toss front desk will earn customers 3% of their purchase amount back. This is intended to encourage wider adoption of FacePay and foster a positive cycle of increased sales for affiliated businesses.
“We focused on the support that small merchants can feel during the Lunar New Year holiday,” a Toss official stated, adding, “We will continue to think about and implement policies that are helpful to both small business owners and consumers at the platform level.”
