Tottenham Hotspur were eliminated from the FA Cup against Manchester City, Chelsea have to play in a replay against Aston Villa.
Tottenham lost 0-1 (0-0) in the 4th round on Friday (January 26, 2024). Shortly before the end (88th minute), Nathan Ake made the decision and secured Manchester City’s place in the round of 16. Timo Werner played the entire season for Tottenham.
There were no winners in the remaining games. Among other things, Chelsea FC drew 0-0 with Aston Villa. The guests from Birmingham had a goal from Douglas Luiz disallowed because the VAR had previously detected a handball. The games between second division team Bristol City and Nottingham Forest from the Premier League (0-0) and between the two second division teams Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry City (1-1) also have to be decided in a replay. In the FA Cup there is no extra time after a draw, but a second leg in the other stadium.
Already on Thursday, AFC Bournemouth from the Premier League defeated second division side Swansea City 5-0.
