Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the murder of a trader in Pathanamthitta and are currently being questioned by authorities. The incident, which took the life of 73-year-old George Unnunny, is believed to have occurred during a robbery, with the preliminary post-mortem report indicating that the cause of death was asphyxiation.

According to District Police Chief V. Ajith, signs of strangulation were evident on the victim’s body, and it was discovered that Unnunny’s necklace, locket, and money were missing from the scene. Additionally, police found clothing items inside the shop that are believed to have been used in the strangulation.

In further investigative efforts, the police conducted inquest proceedings and enlisted the help of a sniffer dog, which led them to an uninhabited house 400 meters away from the crime scene. However, their search did not yield any significant findings.

As the investigation into this tragic event continues, authorities are working diligently to bring justice to the victim and his family.
