Head-on collision between car and tanker truck results in 5 fatalities near Tirupur

A tragic accident near Tarapuram has resulted in the death of five people after a car and tanker truck collided head-on. The victims, identified as Balakrishnan, Selvi, Tamilmani, Chitra, Kalarani, and Thillai Arasi, were traveling in a car after visiting Palani in Dindigul district. The accident occurred in the Manakadau area in Tirupur district.

The tanker truck was carrying petrol from Coimbatore to Palani when the collision occurred. Despite the efforts of the police, all five occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The bodies were taken to the Tarapuram Government Hospital for further examination.

The investigation revealed that Tamilmani was driving the car and that the family was from Periyanayakanpalayam and Tarapuram in Coimbatore district. The Alangiyam police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.

In response to the tragic event, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has announced that 2 lakh rupees will be given to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister expressed his deepest condolences and ordered the funds to be provided from the Chief Minister’s General Relief Fund.
