Title: Tragedy Strikes as Firecracker Shop Fire Claims 13 Lives on Tamil Nadu-Karnataka Border

On the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border, tragedy struck when a fire broke out in a firecracker shop at Attipally, resulting in the death of 13 individuals. The incident occurred today around 3.15 pm, sending shockwaves through the community.

The firecracker shop, known as Balaji Crackers, was owned by a man named Naveen, who had been running the establishment for several years. In anticipation of Diwali, Naveen had expanded his business and was operating two additional shops. Over 30 youths from various regions in Tamil Nadu were employed at the shop.

During the unloading process of the newly arrived firecrackers from a container truck and two mini trucks, disaster struck. Flames engulfed the shop suddenly, spreading rapidly and leaving little time for those present to escape. Initially, six individuals lost their lives in the accident, but the death toll has tragically risen to 13. Additionally, five people sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The fire created a thick blanket of smoke in the area, making it challenging for emergency responders to combat the flames. Firefighters from Attipally tirelessly battled the blaze for three hours, eventually managing to bring it under control and prevent further spread. Unfortunately, the intense heat from the fire caused firecrackers worth Rs 1.05 crore to explode, damaging nearby vehicles and infrastructure.

Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was ignited while the firecrackers were being unloaded from the lorry. The incident caused disruptions to traffic on the bustling Bangalore-Chennai National Highway. Promptly, the authorities from the Karnataka State Attipalli Police and Hosur Chipgat Police swiftly managed the traffic, restoring normalcy.

The devastating impact of this fire incident has left the community in grief and sadness. The loss of 13 innocent lives has deeply affected the region, prompting authorities to investigate the cause of the fire and ensure measures are taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
