Many Alpine ski areas can be reached by rail – sometimes directly, sometimes you have to take a bus from the train station to your winter sports resort. The bottom line is that this type of journey is probably a little more relaxed compared to the car you often use. In any case, it is more environmentally friendly in terms of emissions per capita.

Railway companies are increasingly catering to ski tourists and more and more areas are promoting travel by public transport and, for example, providing free local shuttle buses. But where in the mountains can you easily get to by train?
