Health and Family Welfare Minister Professor Dr. Samant Lal Sen said that Bangladesh is progressing day by day like the developed world in the field of medicine. He said, I can say with responsibility that all complex diseases can be treated from Bangladesh now if our doctors treat them.

He said this at a press conference organized at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Tuesday (February 20) afternoon regarding the successful double head surgery of two children named Nava and Noha.

He said, Bangladesh is a country of immense potential in the field of medicine. In our country, many students complete their medical studies and become doctors every year. Our doctors are talented and skilled. Just increase the facilities a little and give them the opportunity to work with confidence as per their responsibilities. Then no patient from Bangladesh will have to go abroad in future.

The health minister said that a few days ago, we treated a girl with cancer in Bhutan, whose treatment was not possible even in India and the Bank. So there is no work that Bangladesh cannot do. Now Bangladesh has treatment facilities for all diseases.

Samant Lal Sen said that the operation to separate the heads of two children named Nava and Nova was successful today in BSMMU. This is no ordinary job. Here, our experienced large team of doctors has done this impossible by operating for more than 13 hours. If this operation were to be done in India or abroad, it would have cost about one crore rupees. But the Prime Minister himself has borne the medical expenses of these two ignorant children.

The minister also said that the Prime Minister himself asked me to come to BSMMU. Even before this, under the guidance of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have successfully performed the head fusion operation of the child in Bangladesh. They are proof that we can do it if given the chance.
