“For example, father and mother receive a link for a package to be tracked or an invitation letter. “Don’t click directly, because if you click on the link, personal data can be stolen,” said I Komang Suartama at a Digital Literacy event for the people of Serangan Village, South Denpasar District, Denpasar City, recently.
Komang added that verifying the link source and checking the credibility of the message sender is something that must be done. Not only that, our attitude in dealing with such things is also an important factor.
“You have to be able to control your emotions. “Don’t panic, check whether the link is safe or not, recognize the characteristics of a dangerous link,” he continued.
According to Komang, education regarding digital skills is crucial for the Serangan community. This is because the community must also take an active role in anticipating crimes that emerge side effect technology advances. Not only about phishing, hoaxes are still a frightening threat to rapid digitalization.
“Usually we get information on digital media faster than in newspapers. “Then information can be spread widely and quickly, making it easier for us to share,” he explained.
