Tripunithura: The Human Rights Commission has registered a case in the case of the death of a person who was taken into custody during a vehicle inspection. It is suggested that the Kochi City Police Commissioner conduct an investigation and submit a report.

Manoharan (53), a resident of Irumpanam Farmers Colony, died. SI Jimmy Jose of Tripunithura Hillpalas police station was suspended in the incident. The incident will be investigated by the District Crime Branch.

During the inspection of the vehicle, the police showed their hand, but Manoharan stopped the vehicle by moving forward a little. Eyewitnesses say that a policeman ran and hit Manoharan in the face as soon as he changed his helmet. It is alleged that Manohar was beaten up in the police jeep.

Manoharan collapsed in front of friends and acquaintances who came to the station after hearing the information at 9 pm. Manoharan was first rushed to the taluk hospital and then to a private hospital in Kochi, but he died.
