NATO member countries should increase spending on military assistance to Ukraine and equalize it to the US level, said former American President and candidate for the post of head of state Donald Trump.
As Day.Az reports with reference to RBC, he also recalled that when he was president he called on 20 countries that allocated insufficient funds to find appropriate capabilities, otherwise they would not have military protection from the United States. After that, according to Trump, “money poured in like a river.”
“After so many years of the US paying the bills, it was a beautiful sight. But now that I’m not around to say you have to pay, they’re at it again. We’re helping Ukraine with over $100 billion more than NATO. <...> They insist on paying much less than we do. Wrong: NATO must level out its spending,” Trump wrote.
According to the ex-president, the member countries of the bloc will do this if “they are asked correctly.”
