Trump Unleashes Torrent of Posts Following Democratic Election Wins
A flurry of activity on donald Trump’s Truth social account Wednesday afternoon-more than 30 posts in under two hours-raised questions about the former president’s state of mind following a series of Democratic victories in key state elections. The posts, numbering 33 between 4:17 PM and 6:40 PM ET, came on the heels of Democratic wins in New York, California, Virginia, and New Jersey.
The rapid-fire series of posts showcased a wide range of topics, from endorsements of conservative authors to criticisms of political opponents and even reflections on past events. In several posts, Trump actively promoted books penned by allies, including former FBI special agent nicole Parker, Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell, Georgia Congressman Barry Loudermilk, trade advisor Peter navarro, and his former lawyer, Christina Bobb, for whose book he penned the foreword.
Adding to the unusual nature of the online activity, several posts consisted of videos appearing to show Trump reciting text nearly identical to previous Truth Social posts. These videos sparked debate online, with some users on the platform X querying the AI chatbot Grok about their authenticity. Grok confirmed the videos were, in fact, generated by artificial intelligence, though The Guardian could not independently verify this claim.
The White House’s response to inquiries regarding the posts was notably delayed,citing “staff shortages resulting from the Democrat Shutdown.” An automated reply indicated potential delays in monitoring press inquiries.
Trump’s posts touched on a diverse array of subjects. He claimed, “Walmart just announced that Prices for a Thanksgiving Dinner is now down 25% as under Sleepy/Crooked Joe Biden, in 2024. AFFORDABILITY is a Republican Stronghold. Hopefully, Republicans will use this irrefutable fact!” he also reiterated threats made earlier in the week regarding Nigeria, stating, “if the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of christians, the USA will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria.”
The former president also launched verbal attacks on the Affordable Care Act, labeling it “really bad healthcare” and a “disaster.” Minutes later, he pivoted to a scathing critique of Democrats, whom he called “crazed lunatics,” urging Republicans to pursue the “nuclear option” and eliminate the filibuster.
The posts took another unexpected turn when Trump began referencing the anniversary of his re-election, despite not having been re-elected. An accompanying image featuring Trump and Vice President JD Vance appeared digitally altered, depicting the two men with unnaturally pale skin and overly white teeth, set against a backdrop of fireworks.
The unusual volume and content of the posts have prompted speculation about Trump’s mental acuity. The outburst occurred just one day after Democrats achieved significant victories in statewide races across multiple states. In New York City, democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani secured a mayoral win, delivering a victory speech that directly challenged Trump, urging him to “Turn the volume up.”
