You may remember a short video in which Leite de Vasconcelos is seen in the Rádio Renascença studios handling records and saying the first verses of Grândola Vila Morena, which was the second password for the military’s advance in the early hours of April 25, 1974. Filmed shortly after the captains’ victory, it could be said to be a reconstruction of what had happened the day before. Wrong. It was an act. Leite de Vasconcelos actually said those words, but not live: he recorded them hours before. And with them a program was made that was aired on tape.
