Turkey will comply with the decision on trade sanctions against Israel until it ceases fire in the Gaza Strip and ensures the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the region. This was announced by Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
“Turkey will abide by the May 2 decision to cease trade with Israel until it declares an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and ensures the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the region,” the minister said at a meeting of the Turkish Exporters Assembly. The broadcast was carried out by TRT Haber TV channel.
“We were waiting for a ceasefire, but, on the contrary, the humanitarian situation worsened. In this regard, it was decided to move to a new stage of restrictions,” Bolat said. He added that Türkiye will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine.
On April 9, the Turkish Ministry of Trade introduced restrictions on trade with Israel for 54 types of goods. On the evening of May 2, the ministry announced a complete cessation of export and import transactions with Israel.
