Cologne, Germany – The upcoming European basketball championship has found its voice. Broadcaster RTL has confirmed its broadcast team, tapping television presenter Laura Papendick to anchor coverage of all games featuring the German national team, beginning August 27.

Papendick Steps into New Role

This move marks a new professional territory for Papendick, who has previously covered football broadcasts for RTL. Her expertise will be complemented by Dennis Wucherer, a seasoned former national player.

Wucherer, 52, brings a wealth of experience to the broadcast booth. He played 123 games for the national team and shared the court with Dirk Nowitzki in 2005 when Germany secured a silver medal at the European Championship.

Veteran Commentators to Call the Action

The commentary for the German team’s games will be handled by Frank Buschmann, joined by former professional player Patrick Femerling as co-commentator. This pairing promises insightful analysis for viewers.

RTL plans to broadcast all games involving the German national team, along with selected knockout stage matches and the final. The entire tournament will be available for viewing on the streaming platforms MagentaTV and MagentaSport.
