Two persons who smuggled 3 pearls in a car from Badulla to Ampara were arrested and handed over by the Special Task Force (STF) in the Ampara town last night (05), Ampara HQ Police said.
According to information received by the Special Task Force (STF), a car traveling towards Ampara was stopped last night while patrolling the Puthangala area near the Ampara town on the Ampara-Kandy road.
Two persons who abducted 3 Kajamuthu were arrested and Kajamuthu and the car were recovered and handed over to the Ampara HQ Police.
Steps have been taken to produce the arrested persons in court and further investigations are being carried out by the Ampara HQ Police.
