That’s itAR Rahman and his (AR Rahman) music are always a surprise to the fans. AR Rahman is the rising king of music through the songs in the movie Roja. Later, people listened to Rahman’s magical music. His music for the film Slumdog Millionaire was recognized by the world. AR Rahman’s Oscar is a world – class recognition for Indian classical music.

AR Rahman was born on January 6, 1967 in Chennai, the son of RK Sekhar, who composed music for Malayalam and Tamil films. His first name was Dileep Kumar. From an early age, Rahman used to play the keyboard in his father’s recording studio. Rahman’s father died when he was nine. Rahman had to work for a living during his studies. As a result, classes were missed and students failed the exams. Rahman then joined another school and continued his studies. During this time he converted to Islam and changed his name from Dilip Kumar to Rahman. He had earlier revealed that this was at the request of his mother Karima Begum.

Rahman joined a music band while studying at Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School due to his obsession with music. Along with friends such as Sivamani, John Anthony and Raja, he worked as a keyboard player and band arranger for music troupes such as ‘Roots’. Later he trained under Master Dhanaraj. He sang in various troupes and graduated in Classical Music from Trinity College of Music, London.

It was during this period that Rahman appeared in Mani Ratnam’s film. Rahman has become an irreplaceable artist in the music world with his music and background music for the film ‘Roja’. Roja’s song came as a warm shower to the hearts of music lovers at a time when film songs were immersed in the rhythms of the orchestra. In the same year, Rahman immersed the Malayalam community in the movie Yodhayile Padakali.

Rahman arrived in the late 90s with both classical and peppy dance numbers. The song ‘Anta Arabi Kadaloram’ from the same movie ‘Uyire’ from the movie ‘Bombay’ still captivates the audience. That is the magic of ARR.

An example of this is the musical marvel created by Mani Ratnam-Rahman combo in ’92 in ‘Iruvar’. ‘Dil Se’ is another film that should be taken as such. If Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala’s romantic moments were able to catch the eye of the audience, then the audience says that Rahman’s role in it is not small at all. The song Chal Chaiya Chaiya from Dil Se, Jiah Jale and Dil Se Ray gave life to the story and characters.
