jpnn.com – JAKARTA – PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir delivered good news ahead of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup quarter-final match, South Korea vs Indonesia.

Erick reported that Nathan Tjoe-A-on could return to strengthen the Indonesian U-23 national team in the quarter-finals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar, after receiving permission from his club, Heerenveen.

Previously, Nathan was only allowed by Heerenveen to play for the U-23 national team in the group phase.

However, with several lobbying efforts carried out by PSSI, the 22 year old player was able to return to strengthening Shin Tae-yong’s team.

“Good news came from the Netherlands, where Heerenveen finally allowed Nathan to strengthen the national team until the remainder of the U-23 Asian Cup,” said PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir in a written statement received by journalists, Tuesday (23/4).

Erick Thohir said that after receiving permission from Heerenveen, Nathan immediately flew back to Qatar, to take part in preparations for the Indonesian U-23 National Team against South Korea.

For his success in lobbying Heerenveen to let Nathan go, Erick, who went directly to meet the Dutch club’s top officials, also expressed his thanks to the parties who had helped him in carrying out various approaches.

“Of course, thank you to all parties involved and providing support. “Now we are focused on facing the match against South Korea with our full strength,” said Erick Thohir.
