Federal Prosecutors Seeking Complaints against 28 Alleged ‘Sex Buyers’ in Massachusetts Prostitution Ring

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts is continuing to pursue charges in a high-profile prostitution ring after recently making a major bust. Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy announced on Monday that his office is seeking complaints against 28 alleged “sex buyers” who were clients of a high-end brothel network operating in the state.

A statement from Levy’s office reiterated their commitment to holding both the traffickers and the buyers accountable. The announcement comes weeks after Levy announced the charges against suspected ring operators Han Lee and Junmyung Lee, who are currently being held in custody as the case progresses.

In court, prosecutors argued that both defendants are flight risks, leading the judge to agree that they should remain in custody. Furthermore, Levy stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that the authorities are prepared to bring charges against the alleged clients, which include politicians, professors, military officers, and pharmaceutical executives.

The alleged brothel network is said to have generated over $1 million in just a few years for the operators. Investigators recovered large sums of money, condoms, lubricants, a Corvette, and other incriminating evidence upon searching the residences of the accused. Additionally, the suspected trafficker, Han Lee, was reported to have made nearly $1 million in U.S. bank accounts, most of which was in cash.

This case highlights the pervasive issue of sex trafficking and the need for greater awareness and action to address it. It is critical to continue supporting the victims of sexual assault and providing resources to help them recover. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward, and they remind the public of available resources for sexual assault survivors.
